Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Anirudh Deshmukh released his delicate sophomore single titled “Rehnuma” today. The acoustic ballad includes poignant piano parts and relaxing flute strains from musician Lokesh Dadhich as well as Deshmukh’s somber vocals as he sings about fading love. In a statement, the musician said, “[The song] will be relevant for anyone who has loved and felt the loss of that love.”
In 2017, Deshmukh began performing at venues across the city while holding his job as an architect. “I would wrap the day and head to a gig, perform and head back home to sleep for two or three hours. I looked forward to that repetition,” he says.
